"What do you think Jesus' friends felt like when they found the tomb empty?" asked Lin Dickerson, director of Kids on Stage for God. The children at Kids on Stage for God had just heard the exciting story of Resurrection morning. Director Lin Dickerson is devoted to making the Bible stories come alive for the kids.
This ministry is open to all children in the community, ages 6-14. Parents or guardians are asked to complete an application for each child.
Each Tuesday after school, children gather in the FPC Fellowship Hall for snacks, Bible study, prayer, songs, and a drama lesson based on the day's study. The study is based on the previous Sunday's Gospel reading. The children learn to roll play each story, taking turns being the main character. Often they are asked to act out the main point of a parable, such as what it means to be part of the vine (plugged in to Jesus) or the light of the world (telling others about Jesus).
Kids on Stage for God are working on a performance for their parents and friends....and especially for God.
